Adam and the band are absolutely delighted to say that Brighter Still has been included in the twenty albums longlisted for the prestigious Scottish Album of the Year 2016/17 by the Scottish Music Industry Association. The final shortlist of ten albums will be published on the 17th of June and the winning album will be announced at a ceremony held at Paisley Town Hall on the 28th of June. See the longlist here

Adam will be appearing in four shows at Celtic Connections 2017 this coming January/February including the opening concert at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall where he will be a special guest of Laura Marling and will be performing with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
There is a full Adam Holmes and The Embers show on Saturday the 28th of January at Oran Mor with US band Darlingside and he is also appearing in Martin Green of Lau’s musical and visual production “Flit” alongside Adrian Utley of Portishead, Becky Unthank of The Unthanks and Dominic Aitchison of Mogwai on the 2nd and 3rd of February.

Adam was honoured to be asked by Martin Green of Lau to take part in a new collaboration along with Adrian Utley (Portishead), Becky Unthank (The Unthanks) and Dominic Aitchison (Mogwai). The result is Flit a series of dark, atmospheric new songs which have been inspired by first hand stories of human movement around the world with lyrics provided by songwriters Karine Polwart, Anais Mitchell and Aidan Moffat. The album is available to buy here and the production, whch also features films and sets designed by the BAFTA winning Edinburgh film writers and directors Will Anderson and Ainslie Henderson AKA White Robot, is on tour throughout the UK in October.
